Manitoba Summer Games Team Blue (South Winnipeg) Take Bronze!!!
Congratulations to the athletes representing the Bonivital and Winnipeg South Region who made up the Winnipeg Blue team on their Bronze medal win.
The team was formed back in October and trained over the winter months before attending the games which just closed on August 17th.
Team Blue went 1-3 in round robin play to make it to the semi finals. In the semi finals, they played against the eventual gold medal winners, Team South. They lost a nail biter giving Team South their closest game in the tournament losing 5-4. The team's amazing play and momentum carried over to the Bronze medal finals against the second Winnipeg team. The pulled out a spectacular 12-9 win over Team Gold to bring home the Bronze medal.
This team was coached by 2 Bonivital coaches, Ashley DeBaets and Nicole Pellerin and Assistant coached by our own president Lucy Chura.
Five athletes from BVSA were a part of this fantastic team.
