She grew up in Winnipeg, MB playing for the Smitty Terminators and earned the Best Catcher award at the Canadian Nationals and named Manitoba Player of the year. Her collegiate carrier began at Daytona State College in Florida and graduated with her Associate of Arts degree with honors. She then played for NCAA division 2 schools at Flagler College in Florida and then in North Carolina at Lees-McRae College where she graduated with honors and earned All-Conference Catcher recognition.
