Bonivital sweeps U17A Capital Region Softball League championship

Bonivital's U17 A Flash 'Blue' team are the Capital Region Softball League champions for 2023.

Flash 'Blue' was one of six teams competing for the league title in a playoff tournament held at Marj Edey Park July 7-9. Bonivital Flash 'Green' also competed.

Flash 'Blue's 13-player squad was undefeated in 4 games and scored 52 runs and allowed only 18 against.

The final game Sunday morning saw Flash 'Blue' square off for a second time against the Warren Wildcats in a game that went the maximum 7 innings and ended in a 9-0 score in favour of the Bonivital team. 

Tournament organizers presented the Flash Blue players with gold medals, and the Wildcats received silver medals.

The playoff tournament was hosted by the Northwest Softball Association.
