New Bonivital Softball Association

Oct. 11, 2022

The Bonivital Softball Association has been revamped to meet the needs of all players and families in the Bonivital catchment. With it will bring some changes.  The major one being that there will no longer be Bonivital East and West.  For the survival of our program, this is a necessity.  As other associations move to this model, so will Bonivital. This will bring great opportunity for our players to be able to play in a fun, developing, and inclusive way with our A teams, while our more competitive players can strengthen their talents with our AA teams.

We have also formed a partnership with the AAA Winnipeg Lightning. The boundaries set by Softball Manitoba for the Lightning align with electoral boundaries of the Bonivital catchement area. Therefore, our members are eligible to play for the Winnipeg Lightning. It is very exciting to be working with the Lightning as the partnership will help grow softball in the Bonivital area.  Working together will enhance player/coach development, facility usage, and opportunities to work with certified Softball Clinicians and Coaches. This partnership will also help bridge the gap between the A and AAA organizations by working together to establish a strong AA program.

With these changes will come new names and association colors.  Evaluations for A teams will be centralized and teams will be formed evenly.  AA teams will be formed early in the year with advanced softball camps starting in November all through to March.  Any player wishing to play AA MUST be registered to play A softball.  If you are successful on making an AA team, and subsequently do not register for A, you will be removed from the AA team.  There is still work to be done on how AA teams will be formed.  All will be dependent on interest and numbers, as well as coaches available.

A survey was sent out to name our "A" division teams and our "AA" division teams.

Our "A" Division teams will be called the Bonivital Flash. And our "AA" Division teams will be called the Bonivital Bolts

Keeping in alignment with our partner organization of the Winnipeg Lightning our colors will be green, blue and white.

I am very excited for the future of Bonivital Softball and can't wait to start on this new venture.

Please do not hesitate to email me with any concerns or questions.
